Join us in 2022!
The world’s leading festival dedicated to cinematic sound and music will be returning for its 5th year in 2022. The Short Sounds Film Festival will once again
be providing an exciting programme of film, awards, industry talks and
networking opportunities. The festival will be a hybrid of virtual and in-person
events taking place on the 24th-25th February. In previous years, SSFF
has hosted a wide variety of leading industry experts, and 2022 will be no exception.
Past speakers include composer Gregson Williams(Wonder Woman, The Crown,
Hacksaw Ridge), Oscar-winning sound engineer Ray Beckett (The Hurt Locker, Zero
Dark Thirty), head of creative audio at Pinewood Studios Glen Gathard (
Wonder Woman, Baby Driver, Quantum of Solace), and award-winning political
filmmaker Ken Loach (Kes, The Wind Which Shakes the Barley, I, Daniel Blake),
just to name a few!
Showcasing emergent talent in the film industry is a cornerstone of SSFF.
SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED FROM APRIL 1st 2021. They may take the form
of a score, feature-length or short film. Submissions will be judged by an expert
panel, who will be selecting for work which celebrates cinematic soundscapes
through amazing music and sound design.
Short Sounds Film Festival is a must for filmmakers and enthusiasts alike. It is an
opportunity for likeminded people to come together and celebrate their shared
passion for the sounds of cinema, to learn from the masters, and to establish
