Story guru, author, screenwriter, producer

Bobette Buster, Story Guru, international story/script consultant and lecturer to production companies and studios worldwide, renowned for “Deconstructing Master Filmmakers” Lecture series, “Universal Principles of Cinematic Language”, and “How Cinema Discovered Story” have positioned her regularly on the Guest Faculty of Pixar, Disney Animation, Disney Channel, Sony Animation, 20th + 21st Century Fox, the BBC, Catholic University of Milan, La Fémis (Paris), Animation Ireland, Screen Training Ireland, North By Northwest (Denmark), and the MEGA Business Program, Spain. She is a regular story consultant for major studios including Disney Animation, Disney Toons, Disney Jr., and leading production companies, as well as advertising and marketing agencies around the world. In 2017, Bobette was appointed Professor of the Practice of Digital Storytelling at Northeastern University, Boston.

Bobette is the Writer and Producer of MAKING WAVES, a film which reveals the hidden power of sound in cinema, introduces us to the unsung heroes who create it, and features insights from legendary directors with whom they collaborate. Featuring the insights and stories of iconic directors such as George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, David Lynch, Barbra Streisand, Ang Lee, Sofia Coppola and Ryan Coogler, working with sound design pioneers Walter Murch, Ben Burtt and Gary Rydstrom and the many women and men who followed in their footsteps.

Bobette will be speaking after the screening of MAKING WAVES talking about the movie, her career and the art of cinematic sound. The screening starts at 3pm with the “In Conversation” event afterwards at 4:30pm.
